What bridge over the thames leads to Tate Modern?

A poem about the river

Glistening sun, through the trees,
Rustling branches in the breeze.
Blossoming flowers take their time,
the view from the top of the hill is sublime.

Grey Geeses fly through the sky,
red roses blush and sigh.
Amongst the weeds a trickling stream,
over the rocks, washing them clean.

A gust of magic fairytales,
whispered by nature, a story unveils.
The leaves turn up to the sun,
a new bud, a new petal, a new life has begun.

The sun lowers behind the hill walls,
a pearly pink glow, across the landscape it falls.

We are trying extremley hard to keep our River Work up to a high Standard. London is a Beautifl place and we hope that we are advertising it well.

Art Workshop

On monday the 12th of may, our art class took part in a half day workshop in preparation for the thames festival. We worked with two artists, Alex and Nina.
They showed us some of George Condo's work and we learned about him. (George Condo isn't a very well known world wide artist like monet for example but has held extensive exhibitions in America and Europe. Many people fing his work odd and scary but some love it.) Alex showed us some of his work in the style of Condo. Amazing but out of proportion. This then told us that we don't have to draw perfectly.

During this workshop we discovered many techniques of drawing which include; cartoon drawings, enhanced proportions, left hand, moving the paper under the pen, quick drawing, stick and ink drawing, charcoal and in depth detail. So many techniques all weird and wonderful in their own way.

In the last section of the workshop, we discovered historical jobs to do with the River Thames. This section was most intersdting as such circumstances that they were working in have changed over a short period of time. The jobs that people would do to get money were diabolical, for example picking up dog poo and illegally searching in the sewers for things of value to sell.

Overall, we found the day extremely interesting and useful. We were looking forward to our second workshop and using colour to enhance our pictures. We cannot wait to see our finished peice on display in London.
