Your School

Our school is 130 years old: its birthday is coming soon in September. It was actually founded by German immigrants who wanted their children to have the oppotunity to study their language and keep their traditions alive.During II
World War they had to change the name for obvious reasons, but the school continued working and growing. In the 70´s it moved to the the district of Morumbi where the new much bigger and modern building would receive the old and the new students.Soon it became one of the most important schools in the country with two other branches one in Valinhos (interior of São Paulo) and the other in the same district, a few miles away.It also has two other branches to the "little ones" (nursery school),named "Portinhos".Students here can choose betwen the German Curriculum (all subjects are taught in German and Portuguese) or the Brazilian regular one.The school also offers scholarships to students from Paraísópolis Community from Elementary School up to High Senior. It is tremendously rewarding to Directors, teachers and everybody else involved in the process watching these students grow and develop a plan for their future lives, which otherwise they might not have and that is why they are really happy and motivated to take part in the Project Rivers of the World.

Our school is big, beautiful and “green”. There are two courts, one racing track around the footballfield. Two sandboxes to practice long distance jump and a lot of trees.

The school tries to show the students the importance of nature – the gardens in it are a true sign of all that idea!
