Our School is in the heart of London near Buckingham Palace. Our school was founded 300 years ago, and our current school building was built around 200 years ago, but is under construction for a complete transformation. . The school is a Christian school but we do have students who are Muslim, Sikhs, Atheist and Buddhists.
In our school we have students, whose families come from all over the world, including Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Poland and Pakistan.
Once a year we celebrate everyone’s different background during international week.
School starts at 8.45am everyday and terminates at 3.20, unless you have detentions. At school we learn Music, Physical Education, Games, Maths, English, Science, Art, French, German, History, Drama, Religious Education, Personal Social Health Education, Information Technology, Design Technology and Citizenship. Students have 30 lessons a week which last around 50mins. Our school is generally good because we have sports day at local Stadium, Drama productions in the main hall and Trips outside school to Galleries, Zoo etc. We have Church services at the end of every term in a church near Westminster Cathedral, to celebrate student’s success.

Your River
Art Workshop
At the start of the work shop we looked at Kara Walkers and David Genatleman's Art work.
We looked at shadow puppets and the history of cultural events around the Thames, including the movement of the Globe Theatre from the north side of the Thames the the south and how a winter festival was hld on top of the river Thames when it froze over in 1564
In David Gentleman's work he used silhouettes to show the making of Charing Cross, which are shown at Charing Cross tube station. We used his and Kara Walkers's work as ideas for our Artwork showing the moving of the globe theatre.
To create our composition we had to create silhouettes of the workers, trees and buildings. To create the images of the workers we took pictures of each other acting out movements and then traced these images onto black card which we cut out as silhouettes.
We then scanned all the silhouettes and put them all into one image for our final composition.
