Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School was established in 1954 as a state academy with students who range from 13 to 19 in age. Among the first authorized schools to enroll overseas students by the government, Ganquan, a member of the National Foreign Language School Committee, is now a showpiece for expanding foreign exchanges, a national base for the international extension of the Chinese language. It is also an experimental school launching a nationwide drive for new Japanese courses and a bilingual experimental school of the Foreign Languages College of Shanghai University. In 1972, Ganquan took the lead in offering Japanese, which made it the only comprehensive school in Shanghai to adopt Japanese as its first foreign language. For 34 years the school has developed thousands of people with outstanding Japanese language quality. The school has therefore enjoyed the reputation of “the cradle of cultivating future experts in Japan.”
Our principle of education is to foster modern, well-mannered and highly competitive students with a strong personality and a global perspective.
Our schooling policy is to strengthen academic management, to accelerate outward exploration, to excel in distinguished features and to pursue active development”.
Our concept of education is to discover students' value, to stimulate their potential, to advance their qualifications and to develop their personalities.
Our teaching feature is “a rich diversity of foreign language development with Japanese taking the lead.”
We strive to make a featured way to develop with passion for the nation and global perspectives.
We sincerely hope that Ganquan, just like a fountain in Chinese, will make your life beautiful and dynamic.
