Acland Burghley School workshop page

Hi my name is David I go to Acland Burghley School, I like languages and working hard to be an artist and if I can’t do that I will like to be a historian. Acland Burghley is a big school with two playgrounds and an astro-turf. We have got a new performing arts block. The first day was hard everyone was nervous until they made friends. To be honest this school is very welcoming feel free to visit. Don’t be afraid Acland Burghley is a very cultural school.

I think London is a good place to live because we have a lot of freedom here and can mostly do what we want. In London, there is a lot to do and see and you can probably not get bored especially in central London. It is a very popular city and it very busy and has loads of tourists all year around. I like living in London because we have access to a lot of facilities for young and old people. The Thames is also a big attraction in London and is very popular. It could be cleaner.

Hi, I go to Acland Burghley School. I am from Somalia and I like to play football and tennis. Acland Burghley is a great school and I enjoyed it and felt welcomed the first day. To be honest no-one was really welcomed and we all felt quite nervous. As the days went by it was normal and I felt comfortable and confident. I always thought a secondary school to be scary and big but Acland Burghley has changed my opinion completely. London is a great city and has great buildings and sites like the Big Ben and the London eye. However, there is a nasty and bad side to London. For Example, drugs and children smoking and litter everywhere. Overall, London and my school are great!

My feelings about living in London is that we get a chance to do anything we want whereas there are some people in some other places which don’t have the chance to do anything they want. I am so proud of coming to Acland Burghley school because it has a very good education and the people around us are friendly and the school does everything to make us achieve in our subjects e.g after school clubs and our il@b.

Bad things about living in London:
People don’t use the public bins instead throwing it on the streets
No manners against people
Racism
Crime (in some places)
Teenage pregnancy (a lot)
Teenagers leave school at an early age

The things I think are good about the river are that it’s a tourist attraction surrounded by other tourist attractions like the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. You can have a tour of the Thames and the embankment in a boat.
Go on the London eye and have a whole view of the river, Buckingham Palace , Houses of Parliament and St.Pauls Cathedral. Its fantastic.

The bad things about the Thames is that it is really dirty and the water is a horrible thick olive green colour and it would be nice if it was nice and clear and had more wildlife like fish and not just seagulls.

I think that London is a very busy place with loads of different cultures. There are loads of interesting places to visit and there are lots of displays and festivals near the Thames River. I like going around London in my spare time because there’s so much to do, there’s lots of important buildings and museums, gallery’s, lots of different people. London is a very exciting place to be there are always new things to do.

London is safe in some places like in Kentish town and Camden town – this is where most people hang around. There are loads of shops and London is famous for Big Ben and the London eye and of course the river Thames

I think that London needs to start to clean the streets up a bit more and the government need to put up more things for kids to do because the only thing is football.

The one thing I like the most is swimming and playing a bit of football and basketball
